Eyes are diaphanous, unyielding, riddles of the sphinx protecting. He is older still, or is that me for noticing. I yearn to know the maker of such walls so long ago, and I long to scratch.
Moments drip descending, fingers dance, all else concrete still while dusk dulls this fabric of mine and when they come, these cracks will never be mine to make nor I the one with the lamplight.
